Floridian pop-punk kids deliver a set of singable tracks that are as sunny as the state they hail from. Often considered a modern Jimmy Eat World at their best ("Promise the Stars," "The Story of Your Life"), We the Kings pull off the magic trick of sounding like a non-depressing Smiths -- their subtlety at the choruses are that good. Lead single "Heaven Can Wait" is another winner, liable to catch the ear of both Bamboozle-bound emo kids and those addicted to American Idol. "In-N-Out (Animal Style)" deserves to be used as a jingle for the West Coast burger chain.
