Do It Alone
Label: V2 Records, Inc.
Dazzlingly polished and boyishly delivered -- even by mall-punk standards -- "Do It Alone" adds an Anglo accent to Sugarcult's guitar-buzzed mass appeal rock. There's an almost British, a-ha-esque pop elegance to the song's staccato intro and anthemic chorus; clever production keeps that chorus bouncing around long after the song ends. Our guess: These SoCal boys have been digging some Franz Ferdinand.
