I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss
Label: Nettwerk Records
With a title that supports the Ban Bossy campaign (you know, those Beyoncé commercials), I'm Not Bossy, I'm the Boss is yet another solid set from Sinead O'Connor. This time around, the Irish singer-songwriter infuses her established sound with electric-blues flavoring. The lyrics are quite lusty, like when she croons "I want to make love like a real full woman" on musky opener "How About I Be Me." Of course, this is Sinead we're talking about, so nobody should be surprised when, towards album's end, her focus once again returns to sin/salvation on the anthemic "Take Me to Church."
