Fad Gadget isn't iconic like Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire, but his influence on electro pop, synth punk and industrial dance jammers shouldn't be overlooked. Fad Gadget, as Best Of clearly demonstrates, excelled at preserving industrial's fist-pumping abrasion while reaching for a more ethereal pulse a la the Human League. And while the back half of this collection does get pretty darn new wave, classics like "Love Parasite" and "Collapsing New People" contain thunderous grooves.
