An End Has a Start
Label: Play It Again Sam
Sweater-clad vocals and post-new wave disco basslines, plus guitars learned from the Fixx, add up to a sophomore album folks who miss the Smiths will want to check out. As the torch-bearers or modern indie rock, Editors are helped in the plight by the John Cale/Bryan Ferry phrasing of primary songwriter and singer Tom Smith, as well as his lyrical proclivity towards meaningful subject matter (class struggle, existentialism). College kids and critics love this band.
