The Bad Touch (The Bloodhound Gang Mix)
While unapologetically infantile -- this band did snag its name from a segment on '80s PBS children's show 3-2-1 Contact, after all -- the Bloodhound Gang prove that they are more than the sum of their near-moronic jokes on their third album. They mix hip-hop beats, thrashy guitars, well-mannered synths, bawdy lyrics, and naughty pop culture references with poorly recorded phone conversations with Jimmy Pop's mother to create a clever pastiche of all of their childhood influences. If there was ever a band that demonstrated that you are what you listen to, this is the one. "Bad Touch" takes sex out of the pages of National Geographic and puts it where it belongs on Animal Planet.
