Über Thom Yorke

Best known as Radiohead's magnetic frontman, Thom Yorke also makes music under his own name. Working with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Yorke's solo studio experiments follow the same tack as albums like Kid A and Amnesiac, working piano, guitars and other traditional instruments into a fluid collage of synthesized sound and knotty electronic beats. The centerpiece, of course, remains Yorke's own voice, which burrows through the digital thickets like a fuzzy woodland creature, cuddly and alien in equal measure. He released his debut album, The Eraser, on the independent XL label in 2006.
