Anointed are power, harmony, fired-up spiritual intensity, total vocal control and wide gospel brushstrokes on a tight R&B canvas. After their 2001 release the band went into a tailspin of personal crisis: Da'dra got some life-challenging news, Nee-C Walls left the group to pursue other interests, and generally there was no music being made for four years. A solid "best of" release filled the gap. But in 2005, the hiatus came to a crashing halt when Sony picked up the remaining duo, siblings Steve Crawford and Da'dra Crawford, releasing the single "Gonna Lift Your Name" as evidence that their first post-shakeup LP was going to be a force to reckon with, proving that Anointed were not ready to fall through the cracks just yet. If ever.
